As you are trying to upload as well as convert, Google throws that error as it can only convert .docx files that are up to 1MB per file. The file type was changed to rtf so it was no more the original docx file in Google Docs. I also thought it might be nice to add a cell comment to say who uploaded the file. Please reopen the issue if you are still affected by this bug.
