It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit. The /boot partition is on /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1 which, I thought would be (hd0,0) and (hd1,0). The output of update-grub would be helpful in figuring out what isn't happening correctly. In the CentOS forum link they guy was using the wrong partitions as roots, I don't think that's the case here - but again it's not working, so what do I If I could boot into F14, I could use grub2 but using F14 repair, I can only use grub legacy.
