Grub Error Prefix Is Not Set

I've using genisoimage -U -R as well and using dd to write the ISO to the USB. More questions Error:No such Partition Grub rescue.? This could be due to the way the EFI is implemented other than EFI itself. btw i dont know anything about this computer i just got it from a friend was hoping to get it working but i have no idea whats going on Add your useful reference

WHen i start my linux lower at startup the screen says, "error "prefix" not set" then a grub comand promp comes up any help? So root (hd?,?) tells grub it's files are on that partition. converting since it's all Windows oriented, and I do not have a Windows machine. If you have more than one, select the installation that you want to provide the grub files. I can load them without any problems, but before I see the menu of the Grub some error messages appear: error: "prefix" is not set error: efidisk read error USB stick Subscribing...

I don't know... That works perfectly. EDIT: Fixed. Meets all the H/W prereqs as far as I can tell...
